Label colors
Charts color their breakdowns from a palette in the order the values appear, so iOS can be blue on one chart and orange on the next. Label colors pin a breakdown value to one color on every chart in the workspace: pick blue for iOS once, and every line, bar and legend entry labelled iOS is blue.
Managing label colors
Open Settings → Workspace → Label colors. It sits in the Configuration group.
- The table lists every label with its color, who changed it last and when. Changes made by the analytics agent show an AI badge and Analytics agent.
- The search box filters the list by label.
- Add label opens a row where you type a label and pick a color from the palette (the same colors and faded shades as the chart legend), then click Save. While you type, values of your user and other dimension properties are suggested, grouped by property. You can also type any other label. Adding a label that already has a color changes its color.
- Click a row's color to pick a different one. The change is saved right away.
- The trash icon removes a label's color right away. That label goes back to the usual palette colors.
Admins and members can add, change and remove label colors. Viewers can open the tab and search it, but cannot change anything.
How labels are matched
- A label matches the breakdown value exactly, including case: a color for
iOSdoes not apply toios. - With several breakdowns, a series is labelled with all of its values, so enter the whole label, for example
iOS, Germany. - Labels without a color here keep the usual palette colors.
- The Other group is always gray.
- A color picked in an insight's legend still wins on that insight. Label colors fill in everywhere an insight has no color of its own.
- From a chart legend, open a series' menu and click Use in all charts to make the color it shows a workspace label color.
- Series without a label color avoid the colors that other series in the same chart already have.
Label colors belong to one workspace. They are not shared or copied between workspaces.
